- Our eBooks are compatible with Adobe Digital Editions formats (PDF and ePub). Adobe Digital Editions is a piece of software that you can download free of charge onto your computer, the first time you purchase an eBook.
- Adobe Digital Editions is a piece of software that is needed in order to manage your digital library of eBooks, without this you will not be able to transfer your purchased eBook to your Reader.
- Most recent hand-held devices are compatible with Adobe Digital Editions. A list of devices compatible with Adobe Digital Editions is available on the Adobe website (keyword search: Digital Editions Supported Devices). Please also check your device’s documentation.
- During the installation of your Adobe Digital Editions, you are given the option to authorize your computer with an Adobe ID. If you don't have an Adobe ID, creating one is free and only takes a minute. Having an Adobe ID will validate your rights to transfer your ebooks between computers or devices, and restore them after a data loss or system reinstallation. If you do not authorize an Adobe ID, your eBook will be downloaded to an account under "anonymous". It will not be possible to transfer this eBook to another computer, or a hand-held device.
- 1) Click on the download link – Note: titles purchased earlier can be viewed by signing into your account and going to your download history. 2) Your browser may prompt you to indicate on which programme you want the installer file (this is a license for the eBook and not the eBook itself) to be downloaded. Select 'Adobe Digital Editions' if prompted and choose to open the file. 3) Adobe Digital Editions should load if not already loaded. 4) Adobe Digital Editions will load the license file, download the eBook and add it to your library on your computer.
- Please ensure that your reader has been authorized with your Adobe ID (the same Adobe ID as your computer) prior to this operation. 1) Plug in your device (reader) into your computer, using the USB cable supplied with the reader. 2) In the Adobe Digital Editions Library, copy the eBook(s) to your reader in the usual way. If the eBook is large, a progress bar may appear as the eBook is copied. 3) Exit Adobe Digital Editions. 4) Once Adobe Digital Editions is closed, disconnect the USB cable from your reader. 5) Your eBook is now loaded to your reader and can be read.
- Yes, provided that you have installed Adobe Digital Editions onto your computer and validated an Adobe ID on the computer you are using. If you have eBooks on multiple computers, you need to authorise each computer with your Adobe ID prior to transferring eBooks between them.
- You can activate up to six computers and devices.
- Once you have authorised your Adobe Digital Editions Library on your computer, you should then plug your Reader in to your computer. A window will appear asking you if you would like to authorise your Reader to your Adobe Digital Editions, giving the email address used for your Adobe account. If this is correct, accept this action and your Reader will be authorised to your Digital Editions.
- Your download will have been saved on your computer’s hard drive, generally in My Documents\My Digital Editions. This applies to Windows. For Mac users, look in Documents\My Digital Editions.
- If you are unsuccessful in downloading your eBook, you have access to download the eBook a further two times (three downloads in total). Please sign in to your account on our site and visit the "My Downloads" page. All previously purchased eBooks will appear and are available for re-download by clicking on the corresponding button.
- Adobe format eBooks enable printing. However, eBooks have security settings that may prevent printing and copying of some Adobe titles. These are set by the Publisher and vary from book to book. We cannot modify these settings.
- Yes, once you have purchased the eBook, it is yours. The title is stored on your account and you can access it at any time by logging in with your username and password. eBooks have a license which enables you to download up to three times. If you need to download your eBook again and you are receiving an error message indicating that you have used all of your licenses, please contact us.
- You need to have the latest version of E-Book Reader app installed on your apple device to download and read your eBook. E-Book Reader is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iPhone OS 3.1 or later. You can only read eBooks in the ePub or iPhone / iPad / iPod formats using the E-Book Reader app. To download eBooks, you will need to sync via the E-Book Reader app on your apple device, and not via your computer.
- Our audio books are in MP3 format. As such they can be played on any MP3-compatible device. MP3 is a widely-accepted standard for audio files (music, radio podcasts…) and most mobile devices are compatible.
- The newest model, Kindle Keyboard/Fire, and the Deluxe model, Kindle DX, natively support the PDF format, so converting the files from PDF to a digital book format is no longer needed for these versions of Kindle models. Previous models, Kindle (1 and Touch), recognize digital books in .azw, .txt, .mobi or .prc formats. Thus, in order to view PDF files on this version of Kindle, you have to convert those to a format recognized by it. This can be done easily with various software programmes available from the internet.
