Description

Write/Read Access: The program displays per drive if and how the drive is accessed. In the so-called ControlCenter, every logical drive is assigned an LED. The color displayed denotes the current status of the drive, i.e. (grey: no activity; green: read access; red: write access; yellow: simultaneous read and write access).


Access to virtual drives – such as network drives - can also be distinguished between read and/or write access.

Storage capacity per Drive:
In the ControlCenter, the current storage capacity of logical drives is displayed underneath the drive status.


Automatic monitoring of all S.M.A.R.T. properties:
Various information is displayed per hard disk, depending on the manufacturer: for example, how long the hard disk has been in operation, how many start-ups have taken place since, and whether corrected write errors have occurred. This information can then be used to forecast the remaining lifespan and warn against a possible hard disk failure. By reacting promptly - making data images and buying new hardware – data loss can be wholly avoided.

Current temperature:
The current and recommended maximum temperatures are displayed for each disk (assuming the respective manufacturer supports S.M.A.R.T.).


Hard disk analysis:
Self-tests can be made at any time after installation, and without the need for boot media.
These tests check various hard disks functions one after the other, including the Interface, the S.M.A.R.T. System itself and the hard disk mechanics – in particular each and every read head.
Should errors occur, O&O DriveLED will display them. This warns the user of potential operational errors with the hard disk.
